The event aims to celebrate Indonesia’s burgeoning cinema and promote the appreciation of Indonesian culture in Australia in an attempt to bridge the gap between these two major Asia Pacific nations that are geographically close yet cognitively apart. GERMAN CINEMA MELBOURNE – interview with artistic director Peter Krausz

by GREG KING   The German Cinema Melbourne film festival screens at Backlot Studios from November 17-25. The festival will screen 11 films, all but one are Australian premiers. The opening night film is Gordian Maugg's Fritz Lang, a speculative drama about the famed German filmmaker as he attempts to shoot his first sound film M in Berlin, and his obsession with a serial killer at the time.
