The 13th annual Indonesian Film Festival (IFF) Australia features a line-up of six diverse Indonesian films. The event aims to celebrate Indonesia’s burgeoning cinema and promote the appreciation of Indonesian culture in Australia in an attempt to bridge the gap between these two major Asia Pacific nations that are geographically close yet cognitively apart. All films have English subtitles and will be followed by a Q&A session with guest filmmakers, hosted by film critic Peter Krausz. The Indonesian Film Festival screens from the 26th of April to the 2nd of May, 2018 at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI), Melbourne.
Greg spoke to Peter to find out more about the Indonesian film industry and the films on offer at this year’s festival.
