Melbourne-based social worker and filmmaker Giovanni Mercuri has turned her experiences advocating for clients’ mental health into a full length feature film and a popular tv series. Her aim is to shine a light on important issues such as bullying and domestic violence. The second series of her series The Travel Counsellor has screened on Channel 31, and the third series will air early in 2019. Giovanna ahs also completed her second feature film, The Target, which deals with bullying and stars singer Damien Leith in his first acting role. Greg chatted to Giovanna about combining her work as a social worker and filmmaker and the genesis of her projects.
