FANTASTIC FILM FESTIVAL 2025 – interview with artistic director HUDSON SOWADA by GREG KING
The Fantastic Film Festival Australia is a film festival celebrating genre and alternative cinema from around the globe, promising a kaleidoscopic showcase of the world’s most exciting voices in cult, genre, arthouse, and alternative cinema. The festival screens from April 24 through until May 16 at the Lido Cinemas and the Thornbury Picture House in Melbourne and the Ritz Cinemas in Sydney. The opening night film is the slasher horror Hell Of A Summer, co-written and co-directed by star Finn Wolfhard, better known for his role in the tv series Stranger Things. There is a retrospective on British filmmaker Lynne Ramsay, and a restored print of the 1977 Australian thriller Summerfield.
