The AICE Israeli Film Festival screens at the Ritz Cinemas in Sydney and in Melbourne at the Rivoli Cinemas and the Alex Theatre (formerly the George Cinemas in St Kilda) from September 5-17 this year. The festival presents the best of contemporary cinema from Israel and features documentaries like Mother With A Gun and Mr Gaga, as well as feature films like Land Of The Little People and the opening night film Home Port. A highlight is the screening of Charles Chauvel’s 1940 classic Forty Thousand Horsemen, starring Chips Rafferty, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the liberation of Bersheeba. Greg spoke to festival director Richard Moore to find out more about this year’s program.
