Gurinder Chadha is best known for her film Bend It Like Beckham. She was in Australia to promote her latest film Viceroy’s House, a sweeping historical epic set against the turbulent backdrop of India in 1947, when the British Empire was leaving. Greg spoke to Gurinder about her personal connection to the events depicted in the film, casting, and the challenges in making such an ambitious period drama.
