TYCHO! BEYOND THE BATON – interview with director STEPHAN WELLINK

A Holocaust survivor who arrived in Australia in 1951, Tommy Tycho left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape of Australia during a career that spanned 60 years. He composed scores for television and film projects, and worked with a number of artists both local and touring international performers. This documentary profiling Tycho’s life and his legacy has screened at a number of film festivals. It screens at the Cinema Nova as part of the Melbourne Documentary Film festival on Saturday July 18. Greg spoke to director Stephan Wellink to find out more about the man and the process of putting together this revealing film.
