Melbourne’s first Transgender and Gender Diverse Film Festival, to be held at Bella Union Bar at Trades Hall in Carlton from 21st – 23rd November this year. Attached is an official press release for our film program.
tilde is Melbourne’s first international film festival created to showcase and support the work of transgender and gender diverse filmmakers, along with works that have transgender and gender diverse content. These stories have historically been marginalised, silenced or distorted. We want to take an active part in countering this, and understand that stories have the power to heal and connect as well as agitate and educate. tilde envisions more positive and authentic representations of gender diversity, and more dialogue and sharing of stories between and across communities both local and global.
There are five feature films and a specially curated collection of short films.
To find out more, Greg spoke to the festival director Liz Alexander.
