Inspired by a true story, The Grizzlies tells of a teacher who arrives in a remote Innuit town which has experiences high rates of depression, unemployment and teen suicide and gives them hope when he teaches them to play lacrosse. The film is the feature directorial debut for Miranda de Pencier, who has extensive experience as an actress and as a producer (Beginners, etc). Greg spoke to Miranda about her experiences in making this feel good film, shooting in a remote and cold location and working with largely non-professionals, youngsters who had never acted before.
