The Sydney Science Fiction Film Festival runs from November 4 to November 25, with a mix of live screenings at the Actors’ Centre and virtual screenings available on-line. This year the festival is screening some 19 features and 78 short films. The festival opens with The Blazing World, the debut feature from Carlson Young, which provoked a mixed response after its screening at Sundance, while the closing night film is the romantic drama A Guide To Dating At The End Of The World, which was shot in Brisbane by director Samuel Gay. Greg chatted to festival director Simon Foster about some of the challenges involved in putting together this year’s festival, the choice of films, and some of the special events.
