Formed in Collingwood in 1981,Strange Tenants were the “godfathers of Australian ska”, emerging in the wake of UK bands like Madness and The Specials. They have toured in support of UB40 and U2. They are still around 36 years later, and still active and political. This documentary from filmmaker Fiona Cochrane takes a look at the band. Greg speaks to director Fiona Cochrane to find out more about the film, which screens as part of the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival. The screening at the Cinema Nova on July 24 will be followed by a Q&A with Fiona.
