The new Australian film Pawno is set around a pawn shop in Footscray and depicts 24 hours in the lives of various people who hang around the shop. It was written by Damian Hill, and stars John Brumpton. The director is Paul Ireland, a former actor making his feature film debut with Pawno. Greg spoke to Paul to find out about the genesis of the film, the casting process and shooting on the streets of Footscray.
