The 2018 Cinematheque season is underway at ACMI with screenings every Wednesday evening. This year’s program includes retrospectives on Jeanne Moreau and Francois Truffaut, two iconic figures of the French New Wave; American independent filmmaker John Cassavetes; a season of lesser known spaghetti westerns; Twisted Nerve – a season of British thrillers from the 60s and 70s; a retrospective on Montgomery Clift; a retrospective on Ida Lupino a respected film actress who was also a ground breaking director tackling some taboo subject matter; and a season of screenings of confronting films from local filmmaker Amiel Courtin-Wilson; and lots more. Greg spoke to Cinematheque curator and head programmer Michael Koller to find out more about the 2018 line-up.
