Following the success of David Stratton’s Retro British Film Festival earlier this year, Margaret Pomeranz reveals her Retro Hollywood Film Festival, which features 22 classic films drawn from the Golden Years of Hollywood. The festival which screens at Melbourne’s Nova Cinema and Sydney’s Windsor Cinema in November-December features Oscar winners such as How Green Was My Valley, Casablanca, Gone With The Wind, The Apartment, and films like The Searchers, Spartacus, Citizen Kane, Singin’ In The Rain, and more. Greg spoke to co-curator Paul Dravet to learn more about the program, and find out why there are no Alfred Hitchcock films in the retrospective series.
