Friends and Strangers is the debut feature film for writer/director James Vaughan. It is a comedy/drama about young twentysomethings fumbling their way through life. The film was shot on location around Sydney in 2019, and Vaughan spent the best part of a year editing it. Greg spoke to James about the origins of the film, about how autobiographical the story or the characters were, the casting, and the reception to the film as it has been screened in a couple of film festivals overseas. There will be a few special screenings of Friends And Strangers around the country and James will be attending a few sessions for Q&As. The film screens at ACMI here in Melbourne from Thursday March 10.
