Beautifully shot on location in the NSW town of Brewarrina, Emu Runner is a coming of age film that deals with grief, culture, tradition, family, connections, survival and resilience. It is the debut feature for Imogen Thomas, who has made a number of short films. It stars Wayne Blair and newcomer Rhae-Kye Waites. Greg speaks to Imogen to find out more about the origins of the film, the casting, shooting on location and the importance of the emu to indigenous people.
