The fourth British Film Festival screens at Palace cinemas from October 27 and runs to November 16. As well as the opening night film A United Kingdom, the festival features I, Daniel Blake, the latest slice of social realism from Ken Loach, new films from Terence Davies, Lone Scherfig and a documentary on Oasis. This year’s retrospective series features two classic Carry On comedies, Goldfinger, the third film in the franchise which basically established the template for what followed and is arguably one of the best in the series, and Oscar winning musical Oliver!. Greg spoke to festival director Kim Petralis to learn amore about this year’s program.
