The 16th Lavazza Italian Film Festival begins screening at Palace Cinemas around the country from September 16. The festival will screen some 32 films, with a range of dramas, comedies and coming of age stories. Popular actor Luca Zingaretti, best known for his role in tv series Inspector Montalbano is a guest of the festival this year. The festival opens with the box office smash hit comedy God Willing, and closes with a special screening of a restored print of Bernardo Bertolucci’s classic The Conformist. To find out more about this year’s film festival, Greg spoke to festival director Elyssia Zeccola.
